“Mr. Shuaibu Idris has an extensive professional working experience which cuts across the public and private sector. He commenced his career with the Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue in 1986 before moving on to Chase Merchant Bank Nigeria in 1987 where he had responsibility for roles in Lending and Investment Banking, and later became the Head of the Financial Advisory Services in 1993.

In 2000, he joined Liberty Bank as an Assistant General Manager heading the Public Sector and Northern Operations Team, a role he held until 2002 when he joined Dangote Group Plc as Group General Manager in charge of Human Resources, Administration and Corporate Affairs. He also served as Group Treasurer and later Executive Director within the Group and subsequently became Deputy Managing Director at Dangote Flour Mills.

Mr. Idris earned his First degree in Accountancy from Bayero University, Kano in 1985, and obtained a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales, U.K. in 1993. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and a Fellow of several professional bodies, most notably, Institute of Directors, Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Marketing.

He presently serves on the board of a number of companies including Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Chorus Energy Ltd, and West African Cotton Company Ltd (WACOT).”
